Ytrejection started with a straightforward observation: most people interested in crypto yield farming had nowhere to learn it properly. Not through hype, not through guesswork - through structured, honest instruction that respects how adults actually learn.
Built from a gap nobody was filling
In 2015, a small group of educators and DeFi practitioners in Guelph noticed something uncomfortable: the people most excited about decentralized finance were also the least equipped to navigate it safely. Courses existed, but they either oversimplified or assumed prior technical knowledge that most learners simply didn't have.
So Ytrejection was built around a different premise. Instead of starting with protocols and mechanics, we start with the learner - their current knowledge, their schedule, and what they're actually trying to understand. Yield farming involves real complexity: liquidity pools, impermanent loss, protocol risk, and reward structures that shift. We teach all of it, patiently and specifically.
Every curriculum decision we've made traces back to one question: does this help someone make a more informed decision, or does it just sound impressive? That filter has kept us honest and kept our learners returning when they're ready to go deeper.

Structure that adapts, not a fixed script
Yield farming isn't a single skill - it's a cluster of related decisions: which pools to enter, how to read reward APYs without being misled, when to exit, and how to account for gas costs in your actual math. Our approach treats these as separate competencies that learners develop at different rates.
Group sessions give learners the benefit of shared questions - someone in your cohort will ask something you hadn't thought to ask. Individual sessions let you slow down on the concepts that don't click immediately without holding anyone else back. Most learners use both at different stages.
Every lesson that touches on yield mechanics includes a clear-eyed look at what can go wrong - smart contract bugs, liquidity crunches, reward token depreciation. We don't lead with warnings, but we don't skip them either.
Learners enter at different points - some understand blockchain basics, some don't. Our intake process places each person on a path that starts where they actually are, not where the curriculum assumes they should be.
Pre-recorded content has its place, but the questions that matter most tend to come up mid-session. All Ytrejection courses include scheduled live time with an instructor who can answer specific, contextual questions.
DeFi protocols change. Reward structures that existed twelve months ago may not exist today. We review and update course content on a rolling basis so that what learners study reflects how things actually work right now.
